Web app development

Web app development for portals, booking tools and dashboards

We offer web app development for businesses and start-ups: customer portals, booking tools and admin dashboards that run in any browser, with no download needed. The same team builds the backend behind them and looks after them once they are live.

What we build

Web apps people use every day.

A web app works on any computer, tablet or phone with a browser. We build them to be quick, secure and simple to use.

Customer portals

Accounts where your customers sign in to see orders, documents, bookings or subscriptions and manage them themselves.

Tech used: Next.js, React, TypeScript

Booking and ordering tools

Availability, bookings, orders and reminders, connected to the systems you already use.

Tech used: React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL

Admin dashboards

Tools for your team to manage users, content, orders and support, with the right access for each person.

Tech used: React, Python and Django

SaaS products

Software you sell by subscription, with sign-up, teams, billing and the product itself.

Tech used: Next.js, Stripe, PostgreSQL

Account areas for apps

Sign-up, account and billing pages on the web for an existing phone or TV app.

Tech used: Next.js, TypeScript, Stripe

Getting it right

What a good web app needs.

Web apps hold real data and real work. These are the things we plan for from the first design.

Secure by design

Safe sign-in, the right access for each type of user, and data protected in transit and at rest.

Quick to use

Pages respond straight away, and common tasks take as few steps as possible.

Works on any screen

Usable on a desktop, a tablet and a phone, because people will try all three.

Accessible

Keyboard navigation, labelled forms and good contrast, so everyone on your team and your customers can use it.

Room to grow

A structure that makes the next feature easy to add, rather than a rewrite a year later.

Proof

Built by the team behind Ohm.

Ohm runs on the web as well as on TVs, phones and computers, and its accounts, licences and support all work through web tools we built and run ourselves. Your web app gets the same care and the same lessons.

Ohm

A premium IPTV player for the playlists you already have. Ohm plays your own sources; it never supplies channels.

How much does a web app cost?

It depends on the types of user, the number of screens, the data involved and what the app connects to. After a short discovery call we send a fixed-price proposal with the scope written out, so you know the cost before work starts.

What is the difference between a website and a web app?

A website mostly gives people information. A web app lets them do things: sign in, book, order, manage data or run part of a business. Many projects combine the two, and we can build both.

Do I need a web app or a phone app?

A web app works on any device without a download and is often the best start for business tools and dashboards. A phone app suits things people use on the move every day. We can help you decide, and both can share one backend.

Can it connect to the systems we already use?

Usually, yes, where those systems offer an API or a data export. We check what is possible during discovery and include the connections in the proposal.

Where is the web app hosted?

We agree hosting with you at the start, often in the UK or EU, and set up backups and monitoring. It runs under accounts you own.

Can you take over an existing web app?

Yes. We start with a code review to understand the app and its risks, then agree a plan to fix, update or extend it, and look after it from there.

Do I own the code and designs?

Yes. Once the project is paid in full, you own the code, designs and everything we built for you. We hand over the repositories, store accounts and documentation.
